Dance Disciplines

  • Jazz is a dynamic discipline that develops rhythm, agility, and coordination, focusing on isolations, turns, leaps, and expressive movement techniques that enhance versatility and body awareness.

  • Tap dance is a rhythmic discipline that develops timing, coordination, and musicality, emphasizing footwork precision, intricate patterns, and the ability to create percussive sounds through movement.

  • Contemporary dance is an expressive discipline that develops fluidity, strength, and body awareness, focusing on creative movement, floor work, improvisation, and the integration of breath, emotion, and technique.

  • Worship Arts is a faith-focused dance style that combines movement and spiritual expression, developing grace, reverence, and body awareness while using dance to inspire, honor, and worship our Creator.

  • The dance attire is different for each class and can be found in the IDA Parent/Student Handbook, located above. All dancers will be dressed appropriately based on their dance class genre.

  • Each student comes to IDA with varying levels of experience from many different studios and we are excited to serve each of them with professional instruction of excellence. Our instructors will assess each student and place them in the appropriate level in each discipline based on availability and aquired skill of the student.
